Company History and Personal Background:
Let me start with a brief overview of my construction background. My entire family has been in
construction for as long as I can remember. My Father owned and operated Elva-Ron
Construction for over 25 years. I know the name is odd but like I said my entire family was in
construction. My grandfather's name was Elvis and my Dad's name is Ronny- so the two
together made Elva-Ron. They mainly specialized in the utility side of sub-divisions. The street
drains, inlets, head walls, and other types of structures. So as a young boy I always got the
chance to take part in these activities. So, I guess you can say this is where I got "my feet wet".
Then, once graduating from high school, I attended the University Of North Texas, where I
studied Mechanical and Structural Engineering. My past construction experience paid off while
pursuing this type of field. Once leaving UNT, I wanted to follow in Dad's footsteps, but I also
wanted to go out on my own so I started Grissom Construction Co. and have been building ever
since. This also allowed me to get face-to-face with the actual customers and homeowners,
which was something that I could not experience in my Father's line of work and I learned to
enjoy the interaction between customer and contractor.
